Abhumans are the collective human and near-human subraces of the Greatcloud, particularly those catalogued, observed, or bioengineered by the Final Accord of Humanity in its relentless march toward scientific enlightenment. While in their full numbers abhumans well outnumber "purebred" humans in the Greatcloud nearly three to one, each abhuman race is itself only a small slice of the galactic population, and some dozens have thus far been identified and recorded in the Black Ships' ceaseless campaign of empirical advancement.
