SONS AND DAUGHTERS OF THE ACCORD,

ARE YOU READY

TO TEST

YOUR

METAL?

The League[]

When a planet isn't quite suited to any of the Greatcloud Sectors but can still support human life in the short term, the interstellar entertainment conglomerate known as the Delta League adds it to Delta Sector, thereby becoming its effective governor. These spartan worlds are used as stages and arenas for the League's primary business: the galactic broadcast of high-tech, combined-arms skirmishes between humanoid weapons platforms.

The denizens of the Accord refer to them, of course, as mech battles.

The Rules[]

Drop from orbit, find the enemy, incapacitate their mechs. Oh, and don't damage the camera gear, sunshine.

Teams of Delta League participants--typically sponsored by and hailing from Alpha Sector colonies--drop to planetary surfaces from orbital mech storage, with limited "battle royale" maneuverability and comm bands between pilots to coordinate the drop.

Depending on the exact conditions of the planet--atmosphere, gravity, etc.--each team is allowed a maximum drop tonnage across all participating mechs. Total weight per drop is a hardline limit not just for logistics reasons, but competitive ones, including the League's weight class system:

  • Bronze - ultralights and scouts
  • Silver - lights or ultralights with support vehicles
  • Gold - mediums
  • Black - heavies
  • Superblack - heavies with support vehicles

While each subleague has its dedicated following, the Combined Subleague Championships draw astronomical viewership numbers each year, with all five crowning battles taking place on the League's homeworld Crucible.

The System[]

(Delta League, in case it wasn't obvious, is a Chrono-geared setting for FASA's BattleTech games!)
