Tresked the Wretched is a three-fingered precursor from the land of ko-Mauraios. Because she has been cursed to be infested with all manners of parasites, she is generally considered an outcast, and few would willingly associate with her. Despite her low stature, many refer to her by her title, though this could merely be that her "title" is itself little more than an insult.
Appearance[]
Tresked has burgundy skin with pale green markings. Unusually for a precursor, her eyes are also pale green, matching her markings. Her hair is dark grey and unkempt, matted in places and crawling with lice. One of the most notable features of her markings is the six dots around her eyes, which make it appear that she has eight eyes. Because of this, her mask has eight eyeholes. The bottom part of her mask cuts off above her mouth, so as to avoid a buildup of parasites behind it, and is molded in the shape of an arthropod's mandibles.
Her clothes are ragged, and she bandages loosely to ease the pressure on her skin, due to the writhing layer of parasites beneath. As a result, more of her glow is visible than typical for Orian precursors.
Background[]
Tresked's troubles began when she was in her mid-teens. For most teens, this means puberty and awkward conversations. For Tresked, this meant waking up one day finding yourself crawling with parasites. Rightfully afraid that she was cursed, her parents kept her from leaving the house, in the name of keeping up appearances until they could find some way to reverse it. Unfortunately, as time wore on, they came to find her curse to be a hopeless case. When she came of age, they unceremoniously ejected her into the adult world. She, of course, struggled to find even a place to stay, due to the stunted social growth from being cooped up inside for the last several years, her already bitter mood, and the maggots that would occasionally burst forth from her skin.
The ceding of ko-Mauraios to Ores a few years later did nothing to improve her mood; though those that stayed were promised a status of four fingers, she was chopped to three for her curse, and thrown unceremoniously back on the streets. Her previous bitterness became nothing short of perpetual anger; she soon gained a reputation for random acts of douchebaggery, and in return it was not seen as unnecessarily cruel to rough her up if she got "rowdy".
For a time, there was one who she treated almost as a friend, Grinkard the Threadspinner, who seemed sympathetic to her plight. However, an unfortunate encounter with with a cleric's Vision of Hell shattered what trust she had in the seamstress.
